Hydronic Radiant Floor Heating
Hydronic radiant floor heating is a system that circulates hot water through pipes installed under your floor. A boiler heats the water, and a pump circulates it so that the pipes carry the hot water throughout your home, conducting warmth to the floor itself.
Zones are created by the use of a manifold that controls the flow of water to the individual runs of tubing. A single thermostat generally controls all the zones in your home.
Benefits of Hydronic Radiant Heating
- Hydronic heating systems are silent
- Hydronic heat provides heat evenly throughout your home
- Hydronic heating is estimated to be 20% to 40% more energy efficient than conventional heating systems
- Hydronic heating does not circulate allergens, dust, dirt, spores, or bacteria around your home.
- You can use any of several heating options to heat the water: electric boiler, a propane or natural gas water heater, heat pump, solar heating.
- For new home construction or large remodeling jobs, hydronic heating can be less expensive than electric heating.
- Your children, your pets, and your feet will thank you!
